23 Jun 2026

BYD has officially introduced the new Dolphin G, a compact hatchback developed specifically for European customers. The model will become the brand's first vehicle tailored exclusively to the European market and is scheduled to arrive in dealerships in autumn 2026.

The BYD Dolphin G belongs to the highly competitive B-segment and features a modern design with sharp LED headlights, a dynamic window line, and a sporty roof spoiler. Its compact dimensions make it ideal for urban driving while still offering a spacious cabin and a practical 425-liter luggage compartment.

Inside, the vehicle comes equipped with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch or 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, depending on the trim level. Available features include a panoramic roof, head-up display, 360-degree cameras, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 128 hp with a 163 hp electric motor. The Dolphin G accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds.

Customers will be able to choose between 7.2 kWh and 18.3 kWh battery packs. The electric-only driving range reaches up to 104 km, while the combined range exceeds 1,000 km, reaching an impressive 1,039 km. The vehicle also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing it to power external electrical devices.

The BYD Dolphin G is expected to launch in Europe with a starting price below €23,000, positioning it among the most affordable electrified vehicles in its class.
