China Sets Historic Vehicle Export Record with More Than One Million Cars in a Single Month

29 Jul 2026

China's automotive industry continues to strengthen its position in the global market. In June 2026, the country exported **1.06 million vehicles in a single month** for the first time in history, setting a new all-time record. Compared to June 2025, exports increased by an impressive **71.2%**.

Only a few years ago, Chinese vehicles were primarily viewed as affordable alternatives to established global brands. Today, Chinese manufacturers are leading the way in electric mobility, hybrid technologies, intelligent driver assistance systems, and advanced vehicle safety, becoming serious competitors to European, Japanese, and Korean automakers.

The strongest contribution to export growth came from brands such as BYD, Geely, Chery, Jetour, Great Wall Motor, and Changan. Their vehicles are now sold in more than 100 countries, with demand continuing to grow across Europe, the Middle East, South America, Southeast Asia, and the CIS region.

One of the main drivers behind this success is the increasing popularity of hybrid and fully electric vehicles. Chinese manufacturers combine advanced technologies, rich standard equipment, competitive pricing, and modern design. Even entry-level models often include adaptive cruise control, 360-degree cameras, large infotainment displays, digital instrument clusters, intelligent driving assistance systems, and advanced safety features.

Industry analysts predict that if the current pace continues, China's vehicle exports could exceed **10 million units by the end of 2026**, establishing another historic milestone for the country's automotive sector.

Experts also attribute this rapid growth to flexible pricing strategies, expanding global dealer and service networks, continuous innovation, and a rapidly growing product portfolio.

This trend is also highly significant for the Moldovan market, where demand for Chinese vehicles continues to rise thanks to their modern technologies, attractive pricing, excellent equipment levels, and stylish design.

The latest export record confirms that China's automotive industry has firmly established itself as one of the world's leading automotive powers and continues to expand its influence across global markets.
